Hidaka River at Shinden Bridge, Hidakagawa Live Cam

This camera looks upstream along the Hidaka River to Shinden Bridge, a green steel bridge in the Takatsuo area of Hidakagawa, Wakayama. Street lamps line its deck, which rests on a pier by the near bank and on a tall concrete pier in midstream.

At Takatsuo the houses and small fields of the village spread along the north bank, with wooded hills on both sides of the valley. Just below the bridge the channel swings south around a wide gravel bar. The prefecture's Takatsuo water level station is fixed to a pier of this bridge.

The camera stands on the north bank a short way downstream, so a steep grassy embankment and bushes fill the left of the frame. Beyond the bridge, rooftops and fields rise on the left, while bamboo and a pale gravel bank line the right. After rain the water turns brown and runs high.
