Piazza del Campo is the main public square of Siena in Tuscany, shaped like a scallop shell and paved in red brick laid in nine sections that slope down toward the Palazzo Pubblico. The palace dates from around 1297 to 1310 and still houses the town hall and the Museo Civico. The Historic Centre of Siena was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
