Crossroads, Smolyan Live Cam

The camera stands at the crossroads by the village of Krastatitsa, in the Smolyan district of the Rhodopes. It looks out over the wooded valley below.

Houses with orange tiled roofs sit on the slope to the left, power lines cross the frame, and beyond them the ground drops away into a broad valley with ridge lines stacked behind it. It is an ordinary Rhodope view rather than a famous one — which is exactly what makes it useful for judging visibility and cloud base before driving these roads.

The haze that fills the valley on summer evenings is normal here, and the light goes quickly once the sun drops behind the western ridge.
