The Waterfalls Canyon, Smolyan Live Cam

Above the Canyon of the Waterfalls near Smolyan, this camera looks across the ridge that closes the valley. Sky takes up most of the frame.

The canyon below the lens is a short, steep gorge on the Smolyanska river, worked by a marked trail that climbs past a chain of waterfalls — around forty of them in a couple of kilometres, several over ten metres high. The path is the reason most visitors come to this side of Smolyan.

Because the camera is aimed high and outward rather than into the gorge, what it mostly delivers is weather: cloud building over the ridge, the light going as a front arrives, and long slow dusks in summer. Useful if you are deciding whether the trail is worth the drive today.
