Weather and time
This camera shows the valley station of a drag lift at the Schneeberg ski lifts in Thiersee, Tyrol, beside a timber lift building. The lift cable climbs to the right across an open meadow that serves as a ski slope in winter, with forest along the top of the frame.
The Schneeberg lifts form a small family ski area on a sunny plateau at about 800 metres in Mitterland, part of Thiersee, at the foot of the Pendling. It has three lifts, a magic carpet and about 1.2 kilometres of pistes backed by snowmaking. Thiersee lies in the Kufstein district, a short drive west of Kufstein.
The lift seen here is the Bären-Sauser, a 420-metre drag lift that climbs from about 800 to 860 metres. Out of season the station stands idle on green grass, while in winter this is where skiers board for the ride up the slope.
