National Mall from the Washington Monument Live Cam

This live webcam looks west from the observation level of the Washington Monument, the highest public viewpoint in the American capital. The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool runs straight down the middle of the frame.

The National Mall spreads out on both sides of the pool: lawns, rows of elms, and the circular colonnade and fountain of the World War II Memorial in the foreground. To the left lies the Tidal Basin with its cherry trees; to the right the pond of Constitution Gardens sits among the trees. Beyond the Potomac River, Arlington Memorial Bridge crosses to Virginia and the towers of Rosslyn stand on the horizon.

The height of the vantage point lines up the memorials, the bridge and the far shore of the river along a single straight sightline.
