Patapsco River Shipping Channel, Baltimore Live Cam

This camera overlooks the Patapsco River shipping channel at Baltimore, with the port's container cranes along the far shore. Its view turns and zooms between the terminals, the Key Bridge site and the open water.

The Port of Baltimore handles containers, cars, roll-on/roll-off cargo, sugar, salt and coal, and large vessels pass through this channel on their way to and from the terminals. The Francis Scott Key Bridge crossed the channel until a container ship struck one of its supports in March 2024, and construction work around the site is part of the scene.

Pulled back, the picture takes in whole berths with container ships moored under the gantry cranes. Zoomed in, it follows tugs, dredging barges and crane barges working in the channel, and some positions swing back toward the bridge site.
