Weather and time
This camera looks out from Chateau Mountain in Branson, Missouri, across a broad open stretch of Table Rock Lake in the Ozarks. Below the vantage point, a row of dark-roofed houses lines a winding hillside street, and a wooded point with a pale shoreline reaches into the water.
Table Rock Lake is a reservoir on the White River, formed by Table Rock Dam, which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers built between 1954 and 1958. At normal pool it covers about 43,100 acres in the hills of southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas. Together with the theaters and music shows of the town, the lake is one of the main draws of the Branson area.
From high on the slope, the fixed wide frame takes in low wooded islands on the left, a lone transmission tower beside the point and forested ridges on the far shore. Open sky fills the upper half of the picture.
