Weather and time
A single CPKC track curves away from the platform of the Decatur Depot Museum in Decatur, Arkansas, along a long masonry wall. A signal mast stands where the rails bend out of sight.
The depot was built in 1910 by the Kansas City Southern Railroad, and the museum now keeps local history here. The line is the CPKC Heavener Subdivision, with a white milepost marker for MP 217 beside the rails at the right. The town lies in northwest Arkansas, with Siloam Springs farther south along the line.
The camera looks from the brick platform under the depot roof, which hangs over the top right of the frame. A large industrial building with ventilation stacks rises behind the wall, and a utility pole with transformers stands at the left, so a passing train runs close along the wall.
