Weather and time
This camera looks into the open-air habitat of Jasmine the tiger at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Inside the tall wire fence lie a weathered log, a raised metal platform holding plastic toys and a shallow pool edged with stones.
Turpentine Creek was founded in 1992 by a family who took in big cats that private owners could no longer keep. The nonprofit refuge now covers more than 450 acres of wooded Ozark hills and gives lifetime homes to tigers, lions, bears and other animals rescued from roadside zoos and the pet trade. It is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries.
The camera shifts between several positions across the yard, facing either the log and pool or the fence line with a service road beyond. Jasmine is not always in view, and after dark the picture turns black-and-white infrared.
