Spinnaker South Beach, New Jersey Live Cam

The beach at Sea Isle City runs south from this camera along the barrier islands of the New Jersey shore. A block of flats provides the view over the sand.

This is the only resort on the Jersey shore without a boardwalk. The one it had was destroyed by the Ash Wednesday storm of March 1962, which flooded the island for three days, and the town rebuilt with a concrete promenade instead.

The place was founded in 1882 by a developer who meant to dig canals and call it a new Venice. A few of the canals were cut before the money ran out; the name did not stick.
