Weather and time
The rebuilt Sanford Dam in Midland County, Michigan, has a gated concrete spillway and a rock-armored embankment above the Tittabawassee River. Water pours from the spillway into the river channel below, while the refilled Sanford Lake lies behind the grassy dam crest.
Sanford Dam stands beside the village of Sanford. In May 2020, floodwater from the failed Edenville Dam upstream overtopped and breached it, and Sanford Lake drained. It was the first of four failed dams in the area to be restored: the work was reported substantially complete in February 2026, and the lake reached its legal level in early May.
The camera switches between views of the dam. Frames from different times of day show the lake with a line of floating markers, the spillway gates and embankment crest, and a close view of the outflow.
