Ryan's Bird Buffet Ground Feeder, Brownville Live Cam

A tube feeder on a metal-sleeved post rises over a pad of paving slabs scattered with seed in this ground-level view in Brownville, Maine. Two taller posts with feeding platforms stand behind it in front of a screen of shrubs.

The station, known as Ryan's Bird Buffet, stands on a family property on Rips Road where wild white-tailed deer are fed oats each winter. Seed spilled from the feeders collects on the slabs, so birds feed on the ground in front of the lens. Blue jays drop in for seed, and in spring wood ducks have gathered on the pad.

Unlike the main bird buffet camera, which faces the platform feeder and its painted sign, this fixed camera is set low and looks at the base of the poles. After dusk the picture is shown in black-and-white night vision.
