Peregrine Falcon Nest Box, Manchester, New Hampshire Live Cam

This camera looks inside a peregrine falcon nest box set high on Brady Sullivan Tower in downtown Manchester, New Hampshire. The frame shows weathered wooden walls, a timber rail and a floor of loose gravel, with an open side letting in daylight.

The tower stands at 1750 Elm Street in the largest city of New Hampshire, and the nest sits about thirteen stories above the street. Peregrine falcons have raised young on the building since 2001. They build no nest of their own: the pair scrapes a shallow hollow in the gravel, and at this site the first egg usually appears in the second half of March.

Unlike the perch camera on the same building, which looks out over the city, this view stays inside the box. In spring it shows the incubating pair and later the downy chicks; at other times of year the box often stands empty.
