14th Street Beach, Ocean City Live Cam

The beach at Ocean City runs north from this view, at a resort town on the Atlantic shore of New Jersey. Groups of people are spread across the wide sand, and the boardwalk and the pier stand in the distance.

Ocean City is a barrier island resort that has been dry since it was founded by Methodist ministers in 1879 — no alcohol is sold anywhere in it, which shapes the kind of place it is. The camera is mounted on the fishing pier partway along the beach.

The sand is groomed each morning and the lifeguard stands go out for the day. Between Labor Day and Memorial Day the same frame is empty beach and gulls.
