Cayucos Beach Live Cam

Cayucos is a small town on the central coast of California, north of Morro Bay, with a pier off its beach. The camera looks along the sand and the surf.

The pier was built in 1872 by a Portuguese sea captain who wanted somewhere to load hides and dairy from the ranches inland. It has been rebuilt several times, most recently in 2015, and is still open to walk out on.

The name comes from a Chumash word for the plank canoes used along this coast. Fog sits on this shore most summer mornings and usually burns off by midday.
