Avila Beach, California Live Cam

Surf breaks along the sand beside the Avila Beach Pier, which runs out into San Luis Obispo Bay on the central Californian coast. The camera stands at the San Luis Yacht Club and looks west along the shore.

The bay faces south, sheltered by Point San Luis, which keeps the water calmer than most of this coastline. Boats lie at anchor off the pier, and the headland closes the view on the right.

Avila Beach is a small resort village between San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach, known for its hot springs and its golf resort. Fog is common in the morning and usually clears by midday, so the far side of the bay appears and disappears within a single day.
