Oak Shores, CA Live Cam

Lake Nacimiento is a reservoir in the oak hills of northern San Luis Obispo County, on the central coast of California. The webcam looks down on the docks at Oak Shores from the slope above them.

The dam was finished in 1957 and the water is piped north to Monterey County rather than used locally, which has been a sore point for as long as the lake has existed.

The level moves a long way between wet years and dry ones, and the pale band of bare rock above the waterline is the measure of it. The lake has so many arms that its outline on a map is usually described as a dragon.
