Mouse Island, Corfu Live Cam

Pontikonisi, the islet known as Mouse Island, lies below this webcam off the Kanoni peninsula on Corfu in Greece. The wooded rock sits alone in the strait, with the Albanian coast faint across the water behind it.

A small Byzantine chapel stands among the cypresses on the islet, and legend has it that the rock is the ship of Odysseus turned to stone. The causeway to the Vlacherna monastery, which appears on every postcard of the island, runs out from the shore just left of this frame.

Aircraft landing at Corfu pass low over this water on the approach. The strait is sheltered and the light off it is best in the early evening.
