Port Gaios, Paxos Live Cam

Yachts lie stern-to along the whole quay at Gaios, the main harbour of the Greek island of Paxos in the Ionian Sea. Masts fill the foreground of the frame.

The islet of Agios Nikolaos lies parallel to the shore and turns the harbour into a narrow channel with an entrance at each end. The webcam is provided by a shop on the waterfront and looks towards the southern one.

Paxos is the smallest of the main Ionian islands, and olive groves cover almost all of it; the oil trade paid for the stone houses along this front. Ferries from Corfu and the mainland tie up at the same quay.
