Camel, Animal Adventure Park, New York Live Cam

Camels stand in a sand paddock at Animal Adventure Park, a small zoo at Harpursville in upstate New York. The camera looks across the enclosure and the fields behind it.

This park is the reason a great many people know what a zoo webcam is. In 2017 it put a camera on a pregnant giraffe called April, and the wait for the calf ran for two months and drew something over two hundred million views.

Camels are built for sand: the nostrils close, a third eyelid wipes the eye clear and two rows of lashes keep the rest out. The park holds a few dozen species and takes part in breeding programmes for the rarer of them.
