Weather and time
The platform of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Regional Railroad Station curves away between wooden canopies at Pittston, Pennsylvania. The webcam looks down the track from the north end of the boards.
The name comes from the two cities the station sits between rather than the borough it stands in. The building dates from 1908, when this was a working stop on a line through the anthracite country of the Lackawanna valley.
Scheduled passenger service left northeastern Pennsylvania decades ago. What runs now are excursions operated by the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern, mostly south to Jim Thorpe, and the platform fills on autumn weekends and empties again for the rest of the week.
