Weather and time

The platforms at Grosmont station run across this webcam view, on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in northern England. The tracks curve away between the platforms, with the village houses and the engine sheds beyond.

Grosmont is the junction of the preserved line: heritage trains run from here across the moors to Pickering, and the national network line to Whitby uses the same platforms. The original railway through here was built by George Stephenson in the 1830s and worked by horses.

Steam services run from spring to autumn and at Christmas, and the sheds beside the station keep the locomotives. Between trains the frame is an empty rural platform.
