Tracks at Nagoya Station run beneath the JR Central Towers, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, directly below this view. Local and limited express trains stand at the platforms, and the Shinkansen line runs along the far side of the layout.

The station is the main rail hub of central Honshu and one of the largest buildings of its kind anywhere, with most of its floor area in the towers and the underground levels rather than at platform height. Locally it is known as Meieki, and several private railways and the subway feed into the same block.

Shinkansen sets pass every few minutes through the day, which is the main thing to watch here. The glass fronts of the towers change colour with the weather, and the platforms are lit through the night.
