Syracuse Airport North Live Cam

Snow lies on the apron at Syracuse Hancock International, in central New York state, in front of the camera. The view covers the northern stands and the ground equipment.

Syracuse takes more snow than any other large city in the United States, something like three metres in an average winter, picked up off Lake Ontario as cold air crosses the open water and dropped again inland.

The airport is built and staffed for it: a fleet of ploughs and blowers works the runways through the season and closures are rare. A flight school shares the field, along with an air national guard wing.
