Playa de Loredo Beach, Spain Live Cam

Playa de Loredo runs across this webcam view, on the eastern side of the bay of Santander in Cantabria, Spain. Dune grass fills the foreground, the beach runs in a wide arc, and the city shows faintly across the water.

Loredo and neighbouring Somo share one continuous strip of sand facing the open Cantabrian Sea, and Somo is the surf town of the north coast, with schools and board hire along the front. A passenger ferry crosses the bay to Santander in ten minutes, which is quicker than driving round.

The tide changes the width of the beach dramatically and uncovers a small island at the eastern end. Winter swell brings the surf and empties the sand of everyone else.
