Weather and time
This camera looks across the Yanase River beside Shiromae Bridge in Shitajuku, Kiyose, Tokyo, at stone-faced walls above a rippling stream. A round drain outlet opens in the wall on the left, and the edge of the bridge deck shows at the upper right.
The station stands in Shitajuku 1-chome, in the northern part of Kiyose. Shitajuku Library and the Shitajuku Children's Centre are about 80 m away, and the Shitajuku Civic Pool and Shiroyama Shrine lie some 300 m off. The Yanase River is a tributary of the Shingashi River.
Steel sheet piles form the foot of the two walls, with a strip of grass along the waterline. The near bank steps down to the water in interlocking concrete blocks, and a leafy shrub fills the right foreground. Small ripples break across the shallow channel.
