Weather and time
This camera watches the Kurome River intake of the Kuromebashi Flood Control Basin in Shinhocho, Higashikurume, from a grassy slope. A tall concrete wall with a fenced path along its top fills the frame.
The Kuromebashi Flood Control Basin is an underground box-type basin near the point where the Kurome and Ochiai rivers meet, built to take in flood water from both. A sports centre and park occupy the ground above it. Daimon Junior High School is about 150 m to the south-west, and Shinho Elementary School roughly 350 m to the north-west.
Behind the fence a paved path runs past flowerbeds and parked bicycles toward a grey building with a vaulted roof. The open water lies below the near slope, so this view is mostly of the wall and the intake side of the channel rather than of the river surface.
