A michi-no-eki is a registered roadside station in Japan that offers drivers parking, toilets, local produce and travel information. The Shimogo station stands on high ground beside Route 289 in the Minamiaizu district of Fukushima Prefecture. Its open courtyard with tables and benches sits between the low shop buildings, where visitors stop on the way through the mountains.

The camera turns between several views: the courtyard and terrace in front of the main building, the parking area with a seasonal tent stall, and the grass slopes with the forest behind. On some mornings a sea of clouds fills the valleys below the far ridges.
