Fukushima Airport, Japan Live Cam

Fukushima Airport sits on a plateau in the middle of the prefecture near Sukagawa, with a single runway and a short apron. The camera looks along the parking stands, and the feed carries sound.

The airport opened in 1993 and has never been busy; the scheduled flights run mostly to Osaka and Sapporo. In March 2011 it became the staging point for relief flights into the prefecture, with helicopters working off the apron in the picture.

Sukagawa was the home town of Eiji Tsuburaya, who made the effects for Godzilla and created Ultraman, and the terminal is decorated with his characters. The hills on the horizon are the Abukuma highlands.
