Weather and time
This camera overlooks a narrow stretch of the Kasumi River beside the flood control basin at Imai in Ome, western Tokyo. A shallow stream winds through grassy banks below a long concrete wall with mesh-covered openings.
The station stands in Imai 2-chome, in the northern part of Ome. The basin was built between 1995 and 2006 to hold up to 88,000 cubic metres of floodwater, and its overflow weir lies within a few dozen metres of this point. Iwakura-kaido runs about 350 m away, and Joganzaki Higashi Park is a little farther. The Kasumi River rises at Kasumi Pond in Ome and flows east to the Iruma River in Sayama.
The stream curves through the lower part of the picture, edged with stones along the far bank, while the wall crosses the upper part of the frame.
