Weather and time

This camera watches a small stretch of the Kasumi River at Imai in Ome, western Tokyo, where a shallow stream winds through thick grass. Across the channel a wall of stone-pattern concrete blocks rises to a grassy slope with a white fence on top.

The station is in Imai 1-chome, in the northern part of Ome. Imai Inari Shrine is about 300 m away, and Imai Library and Imai Civic Center are around 400 m off, with the Toyooka-kaido road running nearby. A flood retarding basin of the river lies about 500 m upstream. The Kasumi River rises at Kasumi Pond in Ome and flows east to the Iruma River in Sayama.

The stream here is narrow and half hidden by reeds and bank grass, so only a ribbon of water shows along the bottom right of the picture. Two slim gauge posts stand against the wall to mark the water level.
