Fujiyama Tower, Fuji-Q Highland Live Cam

This camera on the Fujiyama Tower in Fuji-Q Highland in Fujiyoshida looks straight at Mount Fuji over a wide forest. The frame has no buildings in it, only the volcano, the sky and the dark trees at its foot.

Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, and the observation tower next to its Fujiyama roller coaster reaches a height of about 55 metres. From that height the view clears the treetops of the plain north of Mount Fuji, so the whole cone is visible from the forest line to the summit, which stands 3,776 metres above sea level.

Unlike the camera on the roof of Mount Fuji Station in the same city, which shows streets and houses in front of the mountain, this one is all mountain and forest. Haze, cloud on the summit and the colour of the sky are what change most from hour to hour.
