Pescul Selva di Cadore Live, Italy Cam

Pescul is a hamlet at the foot of the Civetta ski area, in the Val Fiorentina in the Dolomites of northern Italy. The webcam looks over the lift station and the slope.

The mountain above is Monte Civetta, whose north-west face is a wall about a kilometre high and four kilometres long. Climbers have called it the wall of walls since the first routes were forced up it in the 1920s.

The ski area links several valleys around the massif and runs to about eighty kilometres of piste. The Dolomites are fossil reef, laid down in a shallow sea and lifted whole, which is why the rock is pale and the towers are shaped as they are.
