Weather and time
This webcam looks along the main street of Sappada, a mountain village in the province of Udine in northeastern Italy. Chalet-style houses with wooden balconies line the road, and the rocky pyramid of Monte Siera rises above the rooftops.
Sappada, known in German as Plodn, lies at about 1,250 metres in the Carnic Alps and belongs to the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, close to the border with Veneto. Its traditional houses combine stone ground floors with timber upper storeys. Monte Siera, about 2,443 metres high, stands to the south-east of the village and has a ski area on its slopes.
The camera is mounted on an upper floor above the street, so the foreground shows a wooden terrace railing, carved fir-tree figures and a furled parasol, while the road bends away between the buildings.
