Saint-Véran Village Centre Live Cam

This camera looks from the upper lanes of Saint-Véran, a mountain village in the Hautes-Alpes, down a forested valley toward snowy peaks. A dark timber chalet fills the left edge of the frame while the church tower rises among the roofs below.

Saint-Véran stands inside the Queyras Regional Natural Park in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, and its church is at 2,042 metres, which makes it one of the highest villages in Europe. It is listed among the Plus Beaux Villages de France, and the commune includes the hamlets of Le Raux and La Chalp. Winter brings skiing, while summer is the season for hiking.

The view is fixed on the village lane, so the church tower, the roofs and the larch and pine slopes stay in the same place through the day. Fresh snow on the high ridges shows when the season turns. A separate camera covers La Chalp.
