Val d’Isère, France Live Cam

The old village of Val d'Isère sits at 1,850 metres in the Tarentaise valley, in the French Alps in Savoie. The webcam looks along the stone houses and the church tower.

The church is older than the resort by several centuries and is the one building in the middle that predates skiing. The rest of the village was built up from the 1930s onwards and given a stone-and-slate style to match it.

The run down from Bellevarde above the village is one of the hardest courses on the World Cup circuit, laid out for the 1992 olympics and used every winter since. The lifts link across to Tignes over the col.
