Weather and time

Farm fields and meadows of the Plaški Valley stretch south from the village of Latin toward Plaški and the wooded ridges beyond. Closer views pick out the tall chimney of the old paper mill and the bell tower of the Orthodox cathedral.

Plaški lies in the lower Ogulin–Plaški valley in Karlovac County, about 27 km south of Ogulin. Latin is one of the eight villages of the municipality and lies just north of Plaški itself. The Orthodox Cathedral of the Presentation of the Virgin was built between 1756 and 1763. The Simo Dimić mill, once the only maker of kraft paper in Yugoslavia, no longer works.

By day a rotating camera sweeps from Staro Selo through Plaški and Međeđak to Trojvrh hill. At times four fixed wide-angle cameras facing north, south, east and west take over, and at dusk and after dark they share the screen, aimed mostly at the sky.
