Šilo Live Cam

The bay at Šilo opens out below this webcam, at a village on the northeastern side of the island of Krk in Croatia. Clear shallow water fills the foreground, and the village spreads along the far shore below wooded hills.

Krk is joined to the mainland by a bridge, which is why it is the most visited of the Adriatic islands, but Šilo sits away from the main road on a sheltered lagoon nineteen kilometres from the island's main town. A ferry runs from here across to the island of Cres.

The beaches are shingle and the water shelves gently, so the bay is used for swimming all summer. Out of season the village is a few hundred people.
