Crveni Vrh, Croatia Live Cam

The Bay of Piran opens out below this webcam at Crveni Vrh, on the northwestern tip of Istria in Croatia. Pines fill the right of the frame, and the far shore with the town of Piran lies across the water in Slovenia.

The bay is divided between the two countries, and the maritime boundary through it was disputed for years after independence and settled by arbitration. From this point both coastlines are in one frame, which is unusual.

The water is shallow and the light comes across it from the west in the evening. Salt pans, still worked, lie at the head of the bay on the Slovenian side.
