Weather and time
This camera stands on the north summit of Stratton Mountain in Vermont, at 3,875 feet, where the gondola reaches the top of the ski area. Gondola cabins climb the cable from the valley, while a trail sign and stands of spruce frame a wide view over the hills.
Stratton Mountain is the highest point of Windham County and of the southern Green Mountains. Its main summit, at 3,940 feet, lies a short way to the south and carries a historic fire lookout tower on the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail. The gondola, about 2.2 kilometres long, has climbed from the base village to this point since 1988.
The camera turns between several positions. One view follows the gondola line down toward the valley, and another closes in on the sign for Upper Standard, Frank's Fall Line, Upper Tamarack and the Snow Bowl, with distant ridges behind it.
