Somers Point Higbee Beach, New Jersey Live Cam

Sand runs down to the bay at Somers Point, with the causeway to Ocean City crossing the water in the distance. The webcam stands at the foot of Higbee Avenue and faces south along the beach towards the fishing pier.

Somers Point is on the southern New Jersey mainland, at the head of Great Egg Harbor Bay, and water surrounds it on three sides. The bridge in view is the Stainton Memorial Causeway, which carries Route 52 across to the barrier island.

This is bay water rather than open ocean, so the surf is slight and the beach is used for swimming, fishing and summer concerts. Boat traffic through the Ship Channel passes just off the sand.
