Octagon Base Area, Loon Mountain Live Cam

This camera overlooks the Octagon Base Area at the foot of the Loon Mountain ski area in Lincoln, New Hampshire. The frame shows a paved terrace with tables, a staircase, a footpath and the loading station of the Seven Brothers Express chairlift.

The Octagon Base Area is where the White Mountain Express gondola begins its climb, and the Seven Brothers Express chairlift leaves from the same spot. Loon Mountain lies in the White Mountains. In winter the slopes serve skiers and snowboarders, while in warmer months the lifts carry riders and mountain bikers.

The camera does not stay on one scene. Some frames look across the terrace and the chairlift station toward the wooded hill, others look up the open grass slope where a lift tower and cables stand. The slope view is the one to check for snow cover and bare ground on the lower mountain.
