Weather and time
This camera looks up the East Basin slope from Camp III, the log lodge at the base of the eastern runs of Loon Mountain. A chairlift line climbs through the trees on the left toward the rounded summit of North Peak.
Camp III is a traditional log lodge built on the site of an old logging camp, at the foot of the East Basin in Lincoln, New Hampshire. Flume and Lower Walking Boss descend this slope toward the lodge. Loon Mountain lies in the White Mountains, and in winter skiers and snowboarders ride the basin; in warmer months the open ground between the trees is grass.
Unlike the base-area and summit cameras of the same mountain, this one stays on a single scene: the wide runout of the basin with the lift line on one side and forest on the other. It shows the condition of the lower slope and how much of the hillside is open.
