Northport Pier Shore View, Door County Live Cam

This camera looks back from the end of Northport Pier at the tip of Wisconsin's Door Peninsula, toward the shore and the ferry lanes. Cars and trucks wait beside a small booth, with a sandy beach on the left and woods behind.

Northport lies at the very end of State Highway 42 in the Town of Liberty Grove. From this pier, car ferries cross the Death's Door strait to Detroit Harbor on Washington Island. The trip takes about half an hour, passes Plum, Pilot and Detroit Islands, and runs throughout the year.

Unlike the view from the landside queue area, this angle is taken from the pier deck, with open water along the left edge and the yellow-railed berth where ferries tie up on the right. Beyond the landing, the highway climbs into mixed forest that turns orange and gold in autumn.
