West Grand Traverse Bay, Traverse City Live Cam

This elevated view from downtown Traverse City looks north across West Grand Traverse Bay, over rooftops and the busy Grandview Parkway. Below, a tree-lined shore with a narrow sandy beach runs along the water, and the Clinch Marina breakwater lies on the left.

Traverse City sits at the southern end of Grand Traverse Bay, an inlet of Lake Michigan split into two arms by the Old Mission Peninsula. Downtown faces the western arm, and Grandview Parkway separates the city centre from Clinch Park and the marina. The camera is mounted high above Front Street, the main downtown street.

Another camera on the same rooftop looks down at Front Street, while this one is aimed at the open water. On clear days the wooded far shores line the horizon and small sailboats show up on the bay.
