Weather and time
This camera looks north over the historic steel Michigan Street Bridge and a marina on the Sturgeon Bay channel in Door County, Wisconsin. Boat slips fill the foreground, and shipyard cranes rise on the far shore.
Sturgeon Bay, the largest city in Door County, lies on both sides of a channel that links Green Bay with Lake Michigan. The bridge opened in 1931 and was dedicated as a memorial to Door County veterans. Its overhead-truss rolling-lift bascule span is the only one of its kind left in Wisconsin, and the bridge has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2008.
From high above the west shore, the truss spans run diagonally toward the far bank. To the left, a tree-covered spit lies beside the docks and a long red-hulled ship is moored at the shipyard; on the right the city's east side climbs a hill topped by a water tower.
