Kalamazoo Airport Live Cam

Kalamazoo airport sits at Portage, immediately south of the city, in the south-western corner of Michigan. The webcam looks over the apron and the runway from the terminal side.

The hangars on the far side hold an aviation museum with a hundred aircraft in it, including a Blackbird trainer and a full-size flight simulator, built up from a collection started by two local pilots in 1977.

Kalamazoo itself did something unusual in 1959: it closed its main street to traffic and paved it as a pedestrian mall, the first American city to try it. Most of the towns that copied the idea have since undone it.
