Weather and time
This camera in Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis, Wyoming, looks across a lawn and a parking area toward the Bighorn River. White mineral deposits of the lower terrace reach the water on the right, and a red hill rises on the far bank.
The park lies along the Bighorn River at the edge of Thermopolis and was set aside in 1897 as Wyoming's first state park. Mineral springs here flow at about 135 °F and build the travertine terraces as the water runs down to the river. The park also has a free bath house kept at 104 °F, a suspension footbridge across the river and a boat ramp.
The camera sits at the north end of the park, beside the parking area at the boat ramp, and stays on this single view. Cars and campers come and go along the river edge, while the lawn, a tall tree and the terrace mark the foreground and the right side of the frame.
