Harbor Springs Bluff, Michigan Live Cam

Harbor Springs sits on a shelf under a wooded bluff at the north end of Little Traverse Bay, in northern Michigan. The webcam looks down from the bluff over the roofs of the main street.

The bay here is the deepest natural harbour on Lake Michigan, which is why a fishing and lumber town grew on a strip of land barely three streets wide. Snow lies on those roofs from November into April.

The point closing the harbour is a summer colony laid out in the 1870s where cars have never been permitted; residents get about on foot, by bicycle and by golf cart. The Odawa were here long before that, and the band that takes its name from this bay has its offices in the town.
